lumps + bumps = scared
Last week was so tiring. I found another lump in my breast and have been beside myself with worry. So on tuesday I had a consultation and an ultrasound scan.
They were 'convinced' it was a large oedema, which was probably caused by radiotherapy. However, 2 days later they called back having reviewed the scan. They're keeping an eye on it for a week as it's in a new place.
Mmmmmmmm is this the same eye they kept on me for 4 years and I still got cancer??????
It's extremely painful and very tender. OUCH!!!! I've also done my back in and as I stumbled into the room she remarked on it. So on wednesday I've got to go for a bone scan and MRI. Apparently I'll be radioactive, so if you see a glow it'll be me, the readybrek kid!
All of this has left me tearful and scared. All I want to do is move on and get on with life..............
This Bloody disease sucks!

U2 at Glastonbury - Achtung Baby!
Sitting watching U2 on stage at Glastonbury
(from the comfort of my sofa)is just amazing.
Memories and big, big songs! This was THE band of my teenage years.
I still rank War as one of my all time fave albums.
Achtung Baby is TWENTY years old!!!
Oh my life where have all the years gone?
Is it really 18 years ago I went to Wembly (twice!)to see Mr MacPhisto perform his magic on the Zooropa stage.
(I've still got my Zoo Ecu money somewhere, haven't you Wend?)
He's still got it, even though that leather suit of
his might need a wash!
I wish I was at Glastonbury.............

I need one of these
This is such a simple, yet genius idea.
If, like me, you start reading your book in bed, then nod off and forget where you got up to and re-read the same page over and over every night. Then this is just the thing for you. A book mark with a finger pointer to pin point the word you last read..........
Brilliant!

loving radio 2day
I am loving Radio 2DAY today!
'A 12-hour on-air celebration of everything the UK's
favourite radio station has to offer'
What a great idea showcasing all the interesting mixes of programmes Radio 2 has to offer, including those late night slots which some of us never get to hear. Obviously my love for Chris Evans shall continue but hell Janice Long's live show from the Maida Vale Studios was exceptional........ Ron Sexsmith and Chris Wood singing 'Dark Eyes' has to be the highlight of my day! And Imagine Village were FAB!
I also loved Julie Fowlis on Bob Harris & Ken Bruce's slot.
(Not looking forward to kids coming home from school and demanding radio be
re-tuned to Capital.......arghhhhhhhh!)
Oooh can you do this again please Radio 2?

nee naw nee naw
I had to rush my large-haired eldest to the hospital with another asthma attack on tuesday night (his 3rd in the past month). Once again we found ourselves in the human soup waiting room of Urgent Care. This time we overheard a bloke telling his missus about life 'inside', another vest-wearing chap shouting about an overdose and a poor sobbing child who's mum had just been put in an ambulance and driven off with flashing lights.
He had a nebuliser and is back on steroids which make him very whizzy and twitchy. He's off school again today as he's still not great and is very tired.
He's got to come along to my hospital appointment with me today. I'm sure those nice nurses will make him feel welcome........
I've been flat-out with a big work project and all in all I'm knackered. If only mr sunshine was out, I'm sure that would help.
Think I need to sit down and book a holiday!

brilliant photography - vivian maier
Vivian Maier died in 2009 and she left behind thousands of negatives.
Her work was discovered by chance at an auction and it was only then that her most amazing photographs came to light. She photographed everyday life on the streets of America in the second
half of the twentieth century. Her candid style provides us with a fascinating insight into life during those years.
Every image has so much personality and we are able to view life through her amazing ability to capture the mundane,
funny and poignant moments of the everyday.
There is an exhibition of her work

sacre bleu!
I'm contacting French customs as my lovely son has been
replaced by a blinged up boy!
He came back with a WHITE baseball cap,
a watch the size of BIG BEN,
a MASSIVE silver peace medallion,
a gelled up mohican, NO voice,
ONE bar of choc and several autographs
(including one on his arm)from the FOO FIGHTERS,
who were on their way to the Isle of Wight
(jealous auntie Jackie?) and a plectrum!
School trips were never this exciting when I was twelve!!!!
I missed him so much as it was soooooooo quiet but have no fear
normal service has resumed and bickering and general bish bash boshing
once again fills the house!

school trip
i'm picking up my large-haired eldest tonight from his
week-long school trip to France and Belgium.
They were visiting the trenches and cemeteries of northern France and
attending the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate.
The highlight of their trip, however, has to be the
chocolate shop visit and the theme park.
He's going to be VERY tired.................
It's been too quiet in the house all week.
I wonder if he's changed his clothes or had a shower?????
