building collapsed in Berkhamsted

Berkhamsted has many beautiful old shops along it's very long high street, including the oldest shop in England, dating from around 1280. Last night the high street suffered a big loss. Birtchnells (the old gentleman's outfitters) was a lovely old victorian, double-fronted shop with 2 floors of accommodation above. At around midnight last night it collapsed. How very sad that we've lost a lovely old building..........and very mysterious!

i likeeeeee

These satchels by Doc Martens are just wonderful. They are crafted by a small team of saddlery specialists in London. The beautiful bags use the very same classic Smooth leather used for the ‘Made in England’ range of Dr. Martens. They are available in five heritage DM’s colours and limited to only 350 pieces across all colours worldwide. They are a design classic and I'd like the white, no the green, hang on maybe red......... £125 but I think I'm worth it!

london town

I went into London for the first time in months on thursday to meet friends from work. Sadly I didn't get to meet everyone but Mrs T and I had lunch in the BIG YELLOW SHOP (Selfridges). Crikey I've missed that shop. Lots of lovely things to stroke and touch, especially in the new shoe dept. AND there's the new Petersham Nursery concession downstairs..........mmmmmm!
It was odd going into London again after such a long time. I picked up a rather chewed looking free newspaper and read all the 'sensational' gossip. Got off at Euston and on the number 18 bus, which is no longer a bendy flavour but a double decker (must have got wise to the fact no-one pays on the bendy buses). As we tootled down Marylebone Road, two men in inflatable sumo suits walked out of UCH hospital........ah yes London, you just don't get that in Berko!

Tiny city of skyscrapers

I'm in awe of this wonderful creation. A tiny metropolis made entirely out of staples. Artist Peter Root carefully placed 100,000 pieces of the tiny metal staples into tall building-like blocks. Absolutely amazing!

mini trend - circus

Trawling the internet for some typography and images I discovered a mini trend for all things 'Circus'. I love the faded colours and serifed typefaces. Bring on the clowns.......

made me smile

apparently today, the 13th of January, is the day when the first of the New Year's resolutions are broken: DIET! Yes it's a fact, most people abandon their New Year diets as they're fed up of counting calories. Here, here!
So let's go plant some doughnuts........
