glass domes - helen musselwhite
I'm a little bit in love/obsessed with glass taxidermy domes. I love that you can put something ordinary underneath a big glass case and all of a sudden it becomes a thing of beauty, something to be looked at and admired.
These gorgeous paper sculptures from Helen Musselwhite are absolutely stunning.

It's a wonderful life
Yesterday I went to the Rex in Berkhamsted (oh we're so lucky to have this gem of a cinema in our town). I took the cheeselets to see 'It's a wonderful life'........how much did I weep? I took comfort in the fact that so many other ladies were wiping away their tears too. Sentimental christmas slush, and I loved it!

playing with your food
This is just too cute. A great idea for those hard-to-feed toddlers, and a great excuse to play with your food, what fun.

winter wonderlands
husband and wife artists Walter Martin and Paloma Munoz have created these beautiful and surreal little snow globes. They are magical little domes filled with tiny stories of dreams and nightmares in a wonderful wintery world.

cool camping
Look at these beautiful igloo pods set in an eco resort and spa in the village of Les Cerniers, in the Swiss Alps. Whitepod is a wonderful concept of designer pods set amongst the Swiss snowy mountains with all the luxury & cosiness you can shake an Ugg boot at. That's my idea of camping; a proper, comfy bed and a roaring fire, none of your lost tent pegs and wafffffer-thin sleeping mats here. Put on a pan of mulled wine, a big old stew and some woolly socks.........stunning!

katy leigh
I recently held a mulled wine and mince pie evening at my house. I invited several talented local ladies who make beautiful things to sell their wares. It was in aid of my local hospice, the Hospice of St Francis, who have been amazing throughout my illness, offering treatments and counselling for myself and my family. We raised an amazing £180, thank you all.
Katy Leigh brought along her beautiful prints and ceramics to sell. Her pottery is hand-painted onto bisque ware, dip glazed and fired. Every piece is unique. and all available via her online website. They are simply lovely.

the smell of snow - walking in the air
I know we're all pretty fed up of the white stuff at the moment but here's a beautiful spray which smells like snow, called Walking in the air......by perfumier, CB I hate Perume
"One day, in November 2007 when it was unseasonably warm, I found myself longing for the smell of Snow. Not on me but in the air around me in my studio. I wanted to imagine myself working quietly in the middle of a snow covered pine forest - rather like the ending of the first act of Balanchine's Nutcracker...
