I have long been a fan of Maxine Sutton's wonderful work,
so imagine my delight when we ventured off to Whitstable and
Margate for a little run out and stumbled upon her
beautiful shop, Blackbird, in Margate Old Town. The shop has a fantastic mix of Maxine's work and carefully selected contemporary crafts and covetable loveliness.
She also has a studio/workshop upstairs and hosts creative courses.
Go visit Blackbird and Margate soon. It's going to be fabulous in a few days or so after the new Turner Contemporary Gallery opens on saturday.

I'm a winner!

I never win anything, ever!  Well actually that's a fat lie.......

I did win tickets to see Mike Yarwood when I was 9, 

I didn't go as I didn't think he was funny!!!!

So imagine my surprise when the lovely Kate from Manon thought my little response to her question 'what does Christmas mean to you' was to be rewarded with some wonderful little goodies from her shop. I love the little glass droplets and glass ball and the 

rose soaps are just gorgeous.

This fantastic shop is based in Cardigan Bay, Wales. "Blodwen's philosophy is one of back to basics, back to nature, making and mending, foraging and finding".

"Blodwen only sells products that are locally made, because we are always mindful of reducing our carbon footprint. We source products that are, wherever possible, organically grown . All our packaging is made from recycled materials, made in Wales."

a little run out

We went to herefordshire on a little jaunt at the weekend. We visited Ross-on-wye, Ledbury and Bridstow (to touch nice things in Baileys home and garden.........sigh!!!)
When I'm rich I'll be shopping big time in this lovely shop. Everything was beautifully presented in a stunning setting of converted barns and outbuildings. I'm inspired to live in a barn complete with whitewashed walls and huge grey sofas, surrounded by indian artefacts, green glass jars, beautiful balls of string and mug full of curious hot chocolate...........one day!
