my mum

It has been the most difficult of weeks for us as a family.
My wonderful, gentle, funny little mum passed away suddenly
on her 80th birthday last thursday.
We are struggling with the shock of it all and coming to terms with the huge hole she has left in our lives.
I am grateful for the support and love of my family and friends
at this awful time.

Miss me, but let me go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free

Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me - but let me go

For this is a journey that we must all take
And each must go alone
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home

When you are lonely, and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds

    I was once told "to live in the hearts of those we love is not to die"- your wonderful Mum lives on through you and your beautiful children, and I thank her for that

    So sad to hear your news - my Dad died in September aged 74 and he would have been 75 on the 24 February. I can empathise with how you must be feeling sending you hugs. I read somewhere just after my Dad died that your heart can't be broken when its filled with love -it helped me so hope it helps you too. XXX

    Thank you all for your kind and supportive messages. It has been very difficult to come to terms with the fact we won't see her again.
    We had a wonderful welsh service, sun was shining and we sang Calon Lân, one of my Mum's favourites
    Calon lân yn llawn daioni,
    Tecach yw na'r lili dlos:
    Dim ond calon lân all ganu
    Canu'r dydd a chanu'r nos.

    i'm so sorry for your loss...
    i think she must have been a special person...an 80th birthday is a wonderful place to smile and get to....
    she's watching you...and would love that sunny yellow post above....
