The Onion.........

Just had a phone call from the hospital. They've had a cancellation. My operation is now on Monday 8th. I need to be there at 10.30 for surgery in the afternoon. I can have an early breakfast apparently. Better build myself up. I'm not looking forward to more mash potatoes and strawberry cream pudding............ hospital food is very good for the waistline.

  1. Hospital's no fun but better to get it over and done with. I will bring you some of my mum's super duper carrot cake when I visit, it's excellent for building up strength and covers all of your 5 a day in one slice, amazing stuff.

  2. Let me know if I can do anything. Guess the kids will be sleeping over somewhere on Monday and Paul will be with you til late? Due to provide the M on W that day... lucky escape for all you Cheeses!! Shall I tag my meal on at the end of the current rota?
    Lots of love x x

  3. Hi, kids will be visiting the Geldart B&B. So lovely of Lizzie. Tagging on meal at the end is fab, thank you. Think of me with all that wonderful hospital fodder......! x

  4. Do you think we should sneak a M on W into the hosp? Would they notice if Mrs L brought you her lovely fish pie and custard tarts? We could hide it under one of those cardboard bowler hats.......

And Jo, tell Charlotte not to have any more cupcakes delivered. There's just not enough room on the swingy tray thing that goes over the bed and there are only so many places Nerys can hide them from Hattie Jacques.

  5. Get yer filthy mits off my bowler hat. Can't wait for Matron Twelly to offer a foot rub and a back scrub again. Don't forget to bring your marigolds this time!
Mrs Lewis is off the hook for Monday's delivery. I can hear a huge sigh of relief on Charles St.

  7. You're hardly wasting away Cheese. Maybe you can eat my hospital supper on monday. I'm sure there will be a wonderful lamb or beef dish followed by a delicious chocolate brownie.........yeah right! A warm egg sarnie and dodgy milk pudding it is then.

  9. No. Actually, I'm not. Paul, you must be able recall some basic culinary activities...?! Bread - in toaster, butter - spread, cheese - slice (or grate, if you so desire...?) Go on, you CAN do it! Alternatively, there is Domino's 875975

  10. I think he'll be ok. He'll be surviving on the fat reserves he's already built up. He also pointed out to me the new chippy next to the station. Do they deliver?
